The international coal mining company is opening a Trade House in China to carry out supply activities. The company is looking for an experienced candidate for the position of the Customs and Logistics Specialist in China.
Role and responsibilities:
- Provide help with customs clearance for exporting mining equipment from China to Russia.
- Represent the company in contact with relevant authorities and supply chain partners (suppliers).
- Make accurate and time efficient declarations, working with colleagues to reduce the potential for human error.
- Ensure knowledge of customs practices and standards are maintained in line with current legislation/regulation, through continuous professional development
- Responsible to lead continuous improvement of performance management, supplier management and compliance management of customs formalities
- Manage and drive global compliance and support suppliers to ensure compliance. Assure up to date process maps and manuals for customs formalities.
- Creating visibility of compliance issues, developing and delivering on agreed KPI’s, e.g. costs, lead-time, for the customs operations function, including oversight and management of customs brokers
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a comprehensive understanding of Chinese Customs practices and have the experience with exporting goods from China.
In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following:
- Experience within the import/export industry with the knowledge of customs,
- Experience completing customs clearance declarations,
- Knowledge of Chinese and English Language is a must.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Direct experience of international trade, especially in mining industry,
- Experience of making logistics routes and their optimization,
- Experience of independent search for transport companies, customs brokers, warehouses for temporary storage of transported goods, conclusion of contracts with them,
- Knowledge of Russian would be an advantage
